Day 1: Edinburgh, Killin or Callandar, Glencoe & Fort William
Our journey takes us northwest past the incredible Kelpies. These magnificent monumental steel horse heads are a feat of engineering and a wonderful excuse for a photo. Onwards we go in search of a Scottish castle before enjoying a delicious lunch packed with local delicacies in either Killin or Callander. A gentle after lunch meander takes us past beautiful rivers, lochs and forests before arriving at the beautifully native Rannoch Moor. This dramatic location makes for a perfect photo opportunity. Onwards to the dramatic landscape of Glencoe where we will hear about one of the most tragic tales from Scotland’s past. A final drive around the shores of Loch Linnhe and we arrive at our base in Fort William. (Overnight Fort William, B)
Day 2: Mallaig, Glenbrittle, Talisker, Lochalsh & Isle of Skye
This morning takes us on an awe-inspiring drive from Fort William past the world famous Glenfinnan Viaduct which has featured more than once on the big screen. The historic monument commemorating the Jacobites fight for Scottish independence will also be visible. On arriving in Mallaig, we embark the ferry to the Isle of Skye where a drive through the Sleat Peninsula brings us to the beautiful cascading waterfalls of Glenbrittle. Take a moment to enjoy the spectacular seascapes and views of the Cuillin Mountains in Elgol before visiting the enchanting sandy bays of Talisker. With a day packed with memories travel on to Lochalsh/Skye for a relaxing overnight stay. (Overnight Lochalsh/ Skye, B)
Day 3: Isle of Skye
Today provides an opportunity to take in the most scenic wonders of Skye, from Quiraing to Neist Point. This small island has so many gems! Your tour guide will organise a unique itinerary dependent on the weather, that highlights current events and is guaranteed to take you off the beaten track. Late afternoon will see a return to the hotel. (Overnight Lochalsh/Skye, B)
Day 4: Dunkeld & Edinburgh
Travelling southwards through Glen Shiel and past the glistening waters of Loch Cluanie our journey then takes us eastwards to Britain’s highest mountain, Ben Nevis. Afterwards we drive through the monumental Monadhliath Mountains to the picturesque village of Dunkeld where we have the possibility of visiting the old cathedral ruins. Heading through the heather-strewn Lowlands and over the Queensferry Crossing we arrive in Edinburgh. (B)
